 All of the Homes children come from difficult backgrounds and circumstances, some worse than others; one thing’s for sure though, they are a special bunch that you can’t help but love.
Children attend various Schools in the greater Durban area. These schools must be commended for giving special consideration to the St. Martin's children by greatly reducing the normal school fee's.
Schools include: Berea Primary, Clarence, Carrington, Durban Girls College, George Campbell, Glenmmore, Open Air School, Port Natal Skool, and Penzance, among others.
The residential care which St.Martin's provides to children is in fact intended as a short term solution until circumstances at Home improve. The reality however is that circumstances back home often don't improve, and many children find that they will be institutionalised for most of their childhoods. This is why St. Martin's aims to make life at St. Martin's as warm and as bright as possible for its children.
